ACE office space is officially unveiled
Tuesday 17th November
The first tenants have moved into state-of-the-art offices in Nelson town centre’s Enterprise Centre.
And to celebrate, there's an official opening on Friday November 20th.
Guests will be invited to have tours of the Enterprise Centre which takes up the top two floors of the £6.5m ACE Centre in Cross Street.
The Enterprise Centre is managed by Hamill Investments Ltd on behalf of Pendle Enterprise and Regeneration Ltd (PEARL).
PEARL is an innovative partnership between Pendle Council and Barnfield Construction Limited, which part-funded and owns the building.
It was also funded by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), via Pendle Partnership, and the No Limits programme which supports enterprise across Pennine Lancashire.
The Enterprise Centre has 32 managed workspaces of varying sizes which are of the highest quality, light, airy and spacious.
They will help local businesses develop and expand - creating new jobs and bringing more life to the town centre.
Standing proud as the Centre’s first official tenants is Herbalife, which advises people on health, nutrition and weight loss.
Karen Helsby and her fellow directors opened their flagship Herbalife Wellness Centre on the upper floor and have already trebled their space requirement to three adjacent rooms.
Brothers Simon and Chris Neill run property management company Hamill.
Commercial Director Simon said: “I’m really excited about the Enterprise Centre and what it can provide for local businesses.
“Interest has been huge with 10 out of 32 suites already occupied or under offer.
“Suites range in size from 350sq ft to 1500sq ft and are offered furnished, together with phone and broadband connection. This allows companies to move in quickly with minimal capital costs.
“Tenants can also benefit from relaxed lease arrangements. This means entrepreneurs can take the step into their first offices without fear of a heavy commitment around their necks.”
Brian Cookson, Executive Director (Regeneration) for Pendle Council added: “Perhaps the most important feature is the grant funding attached to the offices.
“We’re able to provide subsidised rent charges together with future help from the No Limits grant fund. This can only be good news for growing businesses!”
Councillor Allan Buck, who has responsibility for Economic Development for Pendle Council, said: “The grant funding is targeted to give direct help where it is needed.
“This includes supporting new business or, in the current economic climate, existing businesses who could benefit from reducing their costs.
“The grants give significant reductions for an initial two year period against rent, rates, power, light and heating.
“The savings are passed directly to the tenant, so for example, a four person starter office on a fully inclusive basis could cost only £100 per week!”
In early 2010 the Enterprise Centre will host a number of high profile business events as Hamill looks to showcase its facilities to key businesses in Pendle.
These include events held by major regional publications such as Lancashire Business View and North West Insider.
Despite Hamill's early success in attracting new tenants to the Enterprise Centre, an intense period of marketing lies ahead in the coming months.
Simon said: “We don’t want to rest on our laurels.
“We believe businesses will be blown away by the proposition here at the Enterprise Centre. We need to increase the noise and we’re committed to doing just that!”
Steve Hoyle, No Limits' Director, said: "No Limits' investment in the Pendle Enterprise Haven and the ACE Centre means that people in Pendle now have a full range of options open to them.
“These range from starting their business at home to finding managed office accommodation with access to professional business support.
"Whether you're a new business or an existing business, it's another reason why it's time to make the call to No Limits."
