BBC Dragon’s award for No Limits
Friday 4th December
No Limits- which has created almost 1000 new businesses in Pennine Lancashire- has been presented with a national award by Dragon’s Den star Peter Jones.
No Limits, the business and enterprise development campaign for Pennine Lancashire, was judged to be the most enterprising place in the North West. The Enterprising Britain award is made by Enterprise UK, an organisation that promotes entrepreneurship.
Steve Hoyle, No Limits’ Director, said: “This is tremendous recognition for No Limits. But it also recognises Pennine Lancashire’s many entrepreneurs, who have committed to their enterprising ideas and started a business.
“So far, we have helped to create or save over 3000 jobs, and supported over 1200 businesses.”
A key part of No Limits has been the development of ‘Enterprise Havens’, places where new and fledgling businesses can find workspace, support and advice. And these were of particular interest to the national panel of judges.
So far, Havens have been built in Nelson, at the Pendle Enterprise Haven on Every Street and at the ACE Centre, in Burnley at Turf Moor football ground, and in Blackburn, with the Blackburn Rovers Enterprise Centre at Ewood Park and the Blackburn Enterprise Centre on Furthergate.
No Limits now plans to build on its success. A new enterprise haven for Accrington, in the town’s market hall, will open in January. And the 1000th business start is expected early next year, proving that Pennine Lancashire will continue to be a national leader for enterprise and business.
