Be the boss of Burnley football club

Friday 9th January

Pennine Lancashire's enterprising youngsters were given a taster of what it's like to run a successful business. 

Young people aged 16-18, currently not involved in education, employment or training (NEET group) participated in a series of activities at Burnley Football Club which were designed to develop key skills in communication, team working, number and problem solving.

The event was part of No Limits Enterprise Week aiming to encourage Pennine Lancashire residents to unlock their enterprise potential and start their own business.

The youngsters selected business roles including that of chief executive, marketing manager, financial director, football manager and stadium manager then took part in workshops on each subject.

Teams then created a business plan and took part in ‘The Play Off' where each group pitched their ideas to the panel of judges including Alison Waterworth of Albop Ltd, Kevin Clarke from Pendle Enterprise Trust and Louise Spencer from Burnley Football Club.
 
The event round-up was a question and answer time with Matt Hargreaves, Burnley Football Club Stadium manager on the skills and characteristics required to run a successful business.
