Business support adds up for accountant
Monday 17th December
An Accrington accountant is enjoying the support of a new initiative to help get his business off the ground.
Jonathan Lonsdale launched J Lonsdale Accounting in April after encouragement from others in the industry.
At just 25, he already had the knowledge and the contacts to work for himself, and with support from No Limits, he has been able to establish his own business.
He had previously worked for Weltonhurst in the accounting department.
Jonathan said: "I felt it was the right time to go for it. I was looking for a new challenge, and from talking to contacts I knew there was demand for the services I can offer.
"I went to the Hyndburn Enterprise Trust to ask about support. I've had some great advice and a grant, too, which has really helped."
Jonathan added that David Ball of the Hyndburn Enterprise Trust, a No Limits partner, offered invaluable advice regarding grants and sourcing specialist software.
Jonathan added: "I have found No Limits to be very useful. The people are easy to deal with and it has definitely had a positive effect on my business. They have made the whole process of starting up more efficient."
He admitted that his wife, Louise, was instrumental in him setting up his own business and hopes that she will one day be able to join the company.
Aileen Evans, Chief Executive of Hyndburn Enterprise Trust, a No Limits partner, said: "Jonathan has a very promising business. He has a wealth of experience, from simple cashflows to VAT returns and forecasts.
"We were able to source a grant which has helped him get going, and we are expecting good things of his business in the future."
