Export award proves there are No Limits for Accrington company
Monday 14th December
An Accrington company is celebrating after scooping a prestigious export award, with some free help from Pennine Lancashire’s No Limits programme.
Acorn Digital International Inks, based at Victoria Business Centre, won the Entering New Markets award from Chamber of Commerce East Lancashire’s International Trade Club. The awards recognise the – often unseen – work of exporters.
The company, which provides specialist inks for packaging, won the award for entering 17 new markets, from France to Iran. What makes the achievement more impressive is that they only started exporting five months ago. And since entering, they’ve added two new countries to the list!
Acorn were also highly commended in the New Exporter category.
Chris Rayner, Managing Director of Acorn, said: “It’s brilliant! We wouldn’t have got where we are now without the support from the Chamber.”
Ed Murphy, International Trade Director at Chamber of Commerce East Lancashire said: “Usually the winner of this award would have entered perhaps five new markets. Acorn’s performance is by far the winner.”
Acorn’s advice from the Chamber was funded by No Limits, which supports new and existing businesses across Pennine Lancashire.
Steve Hoyle, No Limits’ Director, said: "Success in export benefits people across Pennine Lancashire, bringing jobs and prosperity.
"No Limits' has worked with the Chamber to support a wide range of exporters. The aim has been to take the mystery out of exporting and ensure firms have expert backup and advice. This award shows what can be achieved and is a tribute to the hard work of Acorn Digital International."
