Local business urged to think global
Friday 16th October
Businesses across Pennine Lancashire are being encouraged to think global at a series of free events in October.
The events, organised by the Chamber of Commerce East Lancashire, with funding from the No Limits programme and the International Capabilities Transfer Programme, aim to help businesses find out more about the opportunities available abroad, and how to make the most of them.
Ed Murphy, International Trade and Training Director for the Chamber, and a 35 year veteran of international trade, said: “Not only will businesses benefit from our expertise, but we’ve brought in specialists from the British Chamber of Commerce, China Britain Business Council and Russo British Chamber of Commerce. Whether you’re planning to export, or just interested in the possibilities, these events will help you get the best information.”
Steve Hoyle, programme director for No Limits, said: “International trade is a great way for businesses to grow and develop. Pennine Lancashire is already a global player, but there are great opportunities for new and existing businesses. And more successful businesses mean more jobs for the area. Think global and there really are no limits!”
The events, all held at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel, are:
October 19, 9.30am – 12.30pm: Market research: planning entry to an export market.
November 2, 8am – 10.30pm: Doing business in Russia.
November 20, 9.30am – 12.30pm: Introduction to sales and negotiation skills
December 4, 8am – 10.30am: Trade with China
And on November 27, from 10.30am - 3pm, there’s an International Trade Open Day at the Chamber’s offices at Red Rose Court, Clayton Business Park.
