We'll support you - you support us: No Limits warms up Burnley fans for business!
Tuesday 11th December
Burnley FC is celebrating the launch of its new enterprise centre - by warming fans to the idea of running a business!
To promote and celebrate the Enterprise Haven, thousands of No Limits-branded claret and blue scarves will be distributed at the home game against Preston on Saturday December 15.
The club is a partner in the No Limits programme, a £23m project to regenerate the Pennine Lancashire economy through supporting new and growing businesses.
Hundreds of new firms and thousands of jobs will be created in some of the area's most deprived communities over the next decade through the programme. The initiative will support new and existing businesses throughout Pennine Lancashire with advice, finance, accommodation and a range of other support to help those considering or pursuing self-employment.
The Burnley Enterprise Haven at Turf Moor will open its doors to ambitious young businesses seeking to grow in a supported environment. The Haven will feature managed office spaces and provide access to business advisors.
Barry Kilby, Clarets chairman, said: "Burnley FC will play a significant role in helping the economic regeneration of the area when we open the doors to our Enterprise Haven.
"We will become home to some of our brightest new businesses and, as a football club, we are delighted to support and be part of No Limits."
The scarves promotion was the brainchild of Louise Spencer, head of the Community Sports Trust at Turf Moor, and who will manage the Enterprise Haven as part of her community role at the club.
She said: "No Limits and the Enterprise Haven are here to support our communities through business growth.
"Our activities go beyond matchday - we reach many people through our community and education programmes. And all of these aspects of the club provide avenues to reaching and then helping nurture the business successes of the future.
"We want to warm our communities to the idea of self-employment and business, and to support their endeavours - all we ask in return is that they wear the scarves with pride and support the team!"
No Limits is supported by the local authorities of Pennine Lancashire, including Burnley Borough Council, and by the area's three professional football clubs.
Coun Martin Smith, Burnley Borough Council's Lead Member for Regeneration, said: "No Limits offers exciting opportunities for the people and businesses of Burnley and we hope that they take full advantage of them."
