The right tools for the trade

A builder from Accrington had all the right tools for the trade but nothing to build, until he met the Get Set team at No Limits.
Daniel Georghiou, 28, of Sharples Street, has been in the building industry since he was a teenager and until recently, struggled to find work because of the current economic situation.
With unemployment looming, owning his own business became a very exciting prospect and so Daniel decided to see what help and advice was available.
Working at Job Centre Plus, Daniel’s girlfriend told him about No Limits Get Set programme and so he went along to Hyndburn Enterprise Trust to speak to an advisor.
UK Building and Construction Ltd was established in October, business is booming and Daniel said that deciding to become self employed is the best decision he has ever made.
He said: “Being my own boss is fantastic and it’s been such a great learning curve.”
Joyce Livsey, Daniel’s advisor helped him to construct and present a business plan, explained and guided him with all the financial legalities of running a business, introduced him to useful workshops and helped him to market his business.
The builder also received a grant which he used to buy his work van, its insurance as well as various tools and equipment for the job.
