We're regenerating!
Tuesday 20th April
No Limits is going from strength to strength as part of a new regeneration body.
No Limits was founded in 2007 as part of the government’s Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI), winning the largest grant from round two of the scheme. It was originally set up by a partnership of local authorities in Pennine Lancashire, working with private and third sector organisations, including three league football clubs.
Since then, No Limits has supported the creation of over 1000 businesses and over 2100 jobs, as well as safeguarding over 1400 existing jobs. The programme has also leveraged over £10 million of private investment.
It’s also opened six Enterprise Havens, with space where fledgling businesses can develop.
And from this month it becomes part of Regenerate Pennine Lancashire, the economic development company for Pennine Lancashire.
The company was formed to help councils deliver projects in ways they could not do before, by pooling expertise and resources, achieving greater value for money and attracting increased levels of investment.
Steve Hoyle is the Executive Director for Economic Development at Regenerate, and has managed No Limits since its inception. He said: “We know from our direct experience that the programme gets people into work. It offers opportunity after redundancy and motivation for people after years on benefits. It supports new and existing businesses in all sorts of sectors, and has supported some remarkable successes.
“This is a new opportunity to build on the continuing success of No Limits, bringing the benefits of enterprise to a wider population in Pennine Lancashire.”
