Working mum Nicola is snap happy
Monday 12th November
Colne-based Create Studios is a photography business recently set up by new mum Nicola Holding.
The 36-year-old launched her own venture so that she could set her own hours and balance a working life with that of a new parent.
Nicola began Create Studios, which specialises in weddings, children and family portraits, after recieving a grant which allowed her to buy a projector she now uses to show proofs to clients, as well as receiving invaluable advice from Pendle Enterprise Trust's Bert Greenhalgh, particularly on bookkeeping.
"The business is going really well," said Nicola. "I am feeling very positive about it.
"Even though I really wanted to run my own business, I still considered running a franchise. Thankfully the help from No Limits has been enough for me to get out there and do it for myself."
Kevin Clark, Executive Director of Pendle Enterprise Trust, a No Limits partner, said: "Nicola's situation lent itself to her starting her own business.
"When you set up on your own, you get to be the boss. You decide your hours, and the way your business runs. There are other things you're in control of, such as the accounts and legal issues, but that's what we are here to help with."
